GOAL HERO Kevin Nolan has insisted Newcastle United’s in-form players intend to continue to let their football do the talking with the Magpies' future still unclear.
United announced this morning that there would be an extension of one week for all interested parties to submit their bids, with Mike Ashley ready to take the Magpies off the market and look to stay at the helm for another season.
And this is understood to give wannabe chairman Barry Moat extra time to search for new funds in order to make his dream of running the club a reality.
A statement from the club today read: “Newcastle United can confirm that it has extended its deadline to Barry Moat to table an offer for the club.”
Meanwhile, Newcastle emerged from the weekend sitting pretty in third spot in the Championship with Chris Hughton on the brink of picking up the Championship manager of the month award, providing the Magpies can see off Leicester City in their final game of the month next Monday night.
United’s players have had no choice but to knuckle down despite all the uncertainty at Gallowgate.
Caretaker boss Chris Hughton heaped praise on to his players after they continued their winning start to the season, with Nolan’s man-of-the-match performance epitomising the hard working nature of his side.
