Meanwhile, Simpson has revealed his sympathy for suspended skipper Alan Smith. Smith, who will be replaced by midfielder Nicky Butt tomorrow after his red card at Cardiff, will still travel with the team to lend his support. Simpson added: “Alan had to make the challenge. “There were two minutes left and he was going through to score. It was unfortunate. “We will miss him at Blackpool, but we know he will be with us from the sidelines. “It was vital for us to win against Cardiff. Story continues ADVERTISEMENT “They were a team who were very close to us and I can see them being in the promotion hunt this year. “They have had a good start, but for us to come away and not play at our best but still claim a clean sheet and the three points was brilliant. “It was another three points and we would take another 10 performances like that away from home tomorrow. “These away games are the key to promotion for me. “Blackpool is one we are looking forward to. “It is a night game and we are going there to take the three points again.”
