Hughton also welcomes Shola Ameobi back but says he will introduce him slowly back to life in the first team after a shoulder injury sustained against West Brom.
He said: “We’ve got seven games over a three-week period.
“We’re going to need all the bodies to hand that we can, so it is good to have people back.”
Newcastle will be looking to nail all three points tonight after a disappointing 0-0 draw against Leicester City last weekend.
Hughton said: “As long as we get the result we want I don’t care how we get it.
“It’s an impressive run and one we want to maintain.
“We’re getting to the stage when other teams are winning around us, so we need to turn draws into wins.”
Now Hughton wants United to make the most of their home matches with 19 games to go.
He added: “With so many games coming up we have to look at where we are going to get points from, and there is no better team to get them off then Cardiff tonight.
“With this home crowd behind you it boosts you massively.
“There are a lot of games over a short period so we need to make the most of home games.
“We always look to win every game but the home games have more emphasis on them.”
