CHRIS Hughton today admitted that he has been left with a big void to fill following Shola Ameobi’s lay-off with a foot injury.
The Nigerian-born striker could miss two months of action, and Hughton has been looking to bring in reinforcements from the loan market following a desperately disappointing transfer deadline day which only resulted in the addition of unfit free transfer Peter Lovenkrands.
Hughton confirmed in last night’s Chronicle that he was interested in Aston Villa outcast Marlon Harewood, and it is understood that out-of-favour Wigan striker Marlon King is also under consideration.
