United have conceded just six goals at home in the Championship this season and Colo wants to keep up that Scrooge-like record.
He said: “We have defended well, but all the team deserves credit – it’s not just about me, Jose, Tayls and Danny.
“It’s not just about any one player.”
Now, with 19 games to be ticked off before the winners and losers of the race for the Premier League are known, Coloccini said: “My dream is to challenge in the Premier League with Newcastle next season.
“If we can go back up, then I can have my dream.
“I want to go up because this is a big club, and we have very good fans.”
He added: “I’ve never been in a second division, but it’s been a good experience.
“Here, the stadiums are very good, and the football’s a good standard.
“When I finish my career, I can say I played in England, and played in the second division as well as the other leagues. It’s very hard, but it’s a good experience.
“But every player wants to play at the top level and I am no different.”
