He said: “I think we have some very good characters, one of which would be Steve Harper.
“Kevin gets the nod because he is an outfield player.
“There’s Coloccini, but his English isn’t as good as what it will be. He’s still a big influence on the team.
“You either govern that captaincy by how vocal you are, or by the example that you set.
“Kevin does it all, but around him are some very good characters.
