Last night Frank Gilmore, chairman of the Newcastle United Independent Supporters Association, criticised the decision to hold the Annual General Meeting in London.
He said: "A lot of supporters bought £500 worth of shares, which are now worth nowhere near that, just in order to be involved with the club they support.
"Those same fans are being denied the chance to take part in the Annual General Meeting.
"A lot of fans were talking about this before the match on Saturday and saying they just couldn't afford the trip or the time off to go.
"If you wanted to travel on the day it would cost something like £166 or you could go overnight and have the expense of a hotel."
