Peugeot is making its cars available with savings of up to £4,300 under the terms of the scrappage scheme, thanks to generous discounts on top of the regulatory £2,000 Government and manufacturer reductions.
Unusually, the company is also extending discounts to all buyers, regardless of whether or not they are scrapping their old car.
The company's contribution of £1,000 is extended to all buyers, making the current incentives a substantial saving.
The Peugeot 207 is Europe's best-selling low CO2 car of 2008 in both the sub 121g/km and 131g/km sectors.
In well-equipped Verve guise it is available for just £8,940. This is a saving of £3,300 off the original retail price of £12,240, made up of the current retail offer of £1,300 plus the £2,000 Government and manufacturer contributions.
Peugeot is also extending the £1,000 to buyers without a car to scrap, making the 207 Verve available at £9,940.
Other cars in the range are also available and for those scrapping their 10-year-old car examples include the Peugeot 107 Urban Lite, available at £6,345.
Buyers can also save £4,300 on the Peugeot 308 Verve or £2,725 on the latest Peugeot Bipper Van.
The revised Peugeot 107 city car is the company's greenest and leanest car ever.
Priced from £8,095, it extends the choice among buyers in this increasingly vital sector of the market, which includes rivals such as the Ford Ka, Fiat 500 and the Citroen C1 and Toyota Aygo clones.
The baby Pug boasts emissions of 106g/km and economy of 63mpg from its one-litre petrol engine, which results in £35-a-year road tax and comes with a choice of manual and automatic transmissions.
There are three trim and equipment levels of Lite, Urban and Verve, with some having remote locking, electric windows, side air bags, air conditioning, alloy wheels and a 2-Tronic transmission that is an electronically-controlled manual that operates as an automatic.
Like the Citroen C1, it gets a new shark-like mouth to give it a more distinctive appearance plus different wheel trims that Peugeot reckons will help it to appeal to younger buyers.
The interior is refreshed with new upholstery and materials whilst outside there are new colour options.
