Skoda calls itself the manufacturer for happy drivers and is now helping owners to take one last journey behind the wheel of their beloved motor with some of the most attractive scrappage deals currently on offer.
The company, which is the Best Manufacturer in the 2009 Auto Express Driver Power survey, says it is embracing the scrappage scheme with a vengeance and aims to boost sales significantly as a result.
"It might be an emotional journey to trade in an old car but low on-the-road prices and very attractive finance offers on vehicles across the Škoda range will make it easier to say goodbye," says a spokesperson.
The Škoda Fabia now starts at just £5,995 with the manufacturer topping up the Government's £1,000 payment with a contribution of more than £1,600.
The Octavia, which is Škoda's award-winning mid-size family model, is now available from only £8,995, with the importer adding £1,545 to the Government's £1,000.
All other models, including the award-winning flagship Superb and the popular Roomster have £2,500 off, with £1,500 of that contributed by the car company.
The Škoda range is also available with an outstanding range of finance offers that have low monthly payments through Škoda Finance Solutions.
This means that a Fabia 1, 1.2 hatch costs from just £59 a month plus the deposit. The Roomster S 1.2 costs from £109 a month plus deposit, an Octavia S, 1.4 hatch costs from £129 a month plus the deposit and a Superb S TSI costs from £185 a month plus deposit.
Škoda brand director Robert Hazelwood says: "We are committed to maintaining Škoda's great reputation for providing excellent value.
With our award-winning cars, personal service and affordable finance offers we should be the first port of call for anyone looking to take advantage of the scrappage scheme, which is welcome news for the motor industry."
Jacqui Rowley, Škoda finance manager, adds: "These great finance offers are just right for many people who are considering a new car. They can get into a new Fabia for less than £15 per week.
"Families who bought a second-hand car for their son or daughter can replace that car with a new Škoda and have the peace of mind of knowing that their loved ones are driving a safer, more economical and environmentally- friendly car."
To qualify for the scrappage scheme, cars being turned in must have been registered on or before August 31, 1999, must have a valid MOT and the driver applying to scrap the vehicle must have been its owner for at least 12 months.
Solutions is the personal contract plan from Skoda Finance and is available for a period of one-and-a-half to three-and-a- half years.
Paying some of the vehicle's cost is delayed until the end of the agreement and final options include part-exchange, paying off or returning the vehicle.
