Want to give your kitchen a contemporary look but without forking out for new units and furniture? Why not try this look from First Home Decorating by Jill Blake? The walls and units have been painted soft white with the plinth outlined in silver grey to echo the new grey laminated worktop. Sleek chrome handles have been added too. The floor has been painted in creamy white with a painted mint green border to outline the units. Story continues ADVERTISEMENT It was sealed with a gloss varnish to protect the paint. The tile splashback has been painted a cool blue-green and regrouted in white using a special grouting pen, available from DIY stores. Modern folding metal and wood garden chairs are very inexpensive and can be easily folded away to create space. A simple rectangular table was painted mint green and off-white, giving a fresh and clean look and links in well with the rest of the colour scheme.
