Give others a boost to increase your own self confidence

ONE of the most important ingredients in creating a successful life is remembering to appreciate others. Imagine that every person is like a helium balloon and the helium inside the balloon represents each person’s self-confidence. When you add helium, the balloon expands and floats upwards. Take helium out and it deflates, drops to the ground and shrinks. My challenge for the week is to make it a habit to “add helium” to people’s balloons. Find ways to say or do something to others which increases their self confidence . . . something that makes them feel good, feel special, feel appreciated. It could be a friend, employee, a client, family, your bank manager, the person at the supermarket checkout or even the person who cuts in front of you in their car. So why is this important? Good will spreads. Think of the impact it could have in terms of increasing the sum of happiness and potential in the world if everyone adopted this attitude.
