When a dad won a raffle for a Chronicle makeover he nominated his young daughter for a day of pampering. SUHAINE STEVENS has the details Thanks to England’s WAGs, football and fashion now go hand in hand, though admittedly there have been fashion faux pas along the way. So it was no surprise that the chance to win a Chronicle makeover at a recent NUFC charity dinner was a popular raffle prize. Les Wright had the lucky ticket and nominated his 13-year-old daughter Amy to get the chance to feel like a celeb for the day. We met up with Amy, who goes to The Hermitage School, Chester-le-Street, and our first stop of the day was Savannah Hairdressing Salon Spa in Nelson Street, Newcastle. After a consultation with colour technician Helen Pottage, Amy decided to go for a mixture of three tones – beige-blonde, honey-blonde and dark chocolate – layered under her parting. The colours were zig-zagged to add texture. Amy is a big fan of designer labels, so where better to start than USC in Eldon Square? Amy models a casual pair of Miss Sixty jeans, worn with a vivid coral T-shirt with faux necklace bead. We added a matching pair of coral-toned heels and a gold triple -strand necklace. Our next outfit consists of a smart pair of pinstripe Diesel jeans and an attractive purple tunic top. We added some black leather ankle boots – perfect with jeans and leggings. For a funky evening look we popped into Topshop in Eldon Square, where style adviser Hayley selected a cute outfit. Amy models a muted gold waistcoat, worn over a simple black T-shirt. We teamed this with a black pair of military shorts and a pair of long black leggings. We added the black ankle boots from the previous outfit and finished off the look with a gold necklace and a selection of gold bangles. Amy loved all of the looks and her favourite was the evening outfit. She said it would be perfect to wear for her friend’s birthday party. Special thanks to Helen Pottage and Alexis Gray, of Savannah Hairdressing Salon Spa, Nelson Street, Newcastle, Hayley at Topshop, Eldon Square, all the staff at USC, Eldon Square, and Val and the staff at Piccolino Restaurant, Trinity Gardens, Newcastle Quayside. |
