THE battle is on for this year’s Manhunt 2008 competition . . . and judges face a huge task in trying to pick a dazzling dozen to become calendar boys. We’ve been inundated with more than 1500 entries since teaming up with Galaxy FM two weeks ago, and there’s still one week to go. Your Sunday Sun is on the hunt for the region’s 12 hunkiest men, who will star in the Manhunt 2008 calendar, and while many gorgeous guys have sent in their own entries, many proud mums, girlfriends, sisters and work mates have been rallying to our call too. Drivetime presenter Sally Hudson, said: “I’m pleased to say the response to Manhunt has been even better than last year and we have been inundated with pictures both online and by text. We just want great-looking men . . . you don’t need to be a huge muscle-bound hulk of a man. “If you think you’ve got what it takes, or you know someone who has, then get entering!" After the closing date — 5pm next Sunday — has passed, the judging panel will need plenty of time to pore over the entries before the final pin-ups are unveiled. Last year’s Mr August, Julian Graham, 28, of Gateshead, was signed up by Newcastle’s Boho Model Agency. Julian — whose girlfriend is in the final of Miss Sunday Sun — said: “I’ve had a couple of jobs through the agency, including taking part in a Drink Drive campaign for posters and a TV advert about a month ago. “I had to be dressed up as a dead body on a slab in a morgue, but I was also talking for the advert . . . it was all very eerie. “People have recognised me from the calendar, which has been amusing, and to be honest it was a really good laugh and anyone who takes part this year will really enjoy themselves.” This year’s hotties can enter online or by mobile phone text.
