I was in the North-East last week at the MAC counter in Fenwick, Newcastle. I'd like to say a huge hello and thank you to all the lovely, friendly people I met during my visit, and a huge thank you to all the staff for helping me out. A big thank you to Kat with whom I had an appointment with, for the kind email - I'm glad you loved the make-up, see you again! I was on the MAC counter in Fenwick on Friday, May 23, and Saturday, May 24, as a MAC Featured Artist carrying out booked appointments all day. The appointments lasted approximately one hour each for which a fully redeemable £25 was paid. I did a good varied style of make-ups, including bridal, evening and daytime, so everyone kept me busy and my mind working. Each appointment booked at MAC is fully geared towards the customer and their needs and desires. We believe in individuality and everyone receiving a service that is specific to each of those individuals. I will be present as a featured artist at House of Fraser Metro Centre on Friday, June 15, and Saturday, June 16. I hope to see some familiar and some new faces there! Contact MAC House of Fraser on (0191) 461-1601. Q. I've always put on my eye make-up after my foundation, but a friend told me I should do it before - surely this would smudge it? Or is she right? A. I find putting on eye make-up before the foundation helps to keep the make-up looking clean and loosens your hand up while blending. So many people ask "how do I apply make-up without creating a mess on the cheeks?" Well, this is the answer. Apply your eye cream, moisturiser and lip balm, and then start on the eyes. It takes a little getting used to as the make-up may look a little odd by itself, but using this technique will allow you to apply your eye colours without worrying about spillage and messing up the make-up you have already applied. Doing this also allows you more freedom with your brushes, making blending easier and quicker. I think this technique is especially useful to know when applying strong eye make-up as you don't have to be precious about making a mess, and anything that does land on the cheeks can simply be wiped away. Once your colours are applied, try using MAC's £224 brush to blend the make-up out, it's my all-time, can't live without brush! My favourite since I was a MAC customer myself! * If you have any questions for Caroline, email hannah.davies@ncjmedia.co.uk and we will pass them on. |
