The couple bought Woodlands, near Fourstones village, close to Hexham, 10 years ago and have since transformed it into their dream home. Freda said: "The house has a wonderful secluded location, yet we are just three miles from Hexham and 25 minutes from the airport. It’s so peaceful and totally private. We are south- facing so the house has a lovely sunny aspect and we get lots of wildlife including red squirrels. It’s secluded but not isolated." Freda said: "It’s a very low maintenance property inside and out and would suit a range of buyers from families to retired couples. We have family and grandchildren and they just love it here. The gardens and grounds are a particular feature of the property and features a large garage block and attached workshop. "The gardens are beautiful all year round," Freda added. "They incorporate a small orchard with plum and apple trees. We have our very own Christmas trees which sparkle with frost on a winter’s night. It really is a magical place." The couple have thought long and hard about selling Woodlands, but feel now is the right time. "We are still fit and able so have decided to downsize. We enjoy travelling and sailing and are looking to move on to the next phase of our lives. "We’ve had 10 fantastically happy years here and I’m sure whoever buys the house will be extremely happy here too."
