JOHN and Sylvia MacDonald like nothing better than to relax on the balcony of their Northumberland home and admire the stunning views.
Offering the very best of all worlds, their 1950s detached property backs on to Morpeth Golf Club, yet enjoys a convenient location just one mile from Morpeth town centre. The retired couple bought the three-bedroom house, on Churchburn Drive, 21 years ago.
John said: “Built in 1952, the property is one of a series of individually built houses. We were attracted to it because of its great location. The outlook gives the impression of being in the heart of the countryside, when in reality, we are just a short distance from all the amenities in Morpeth.”
Having raised their family here, the couple are looking to buy a smaller home, now their children have flown the nest. They have updated the house in recent years.
“The house is deceptively large. We have added new bathrooms and kitchens and replaced windows with French doors to make the best of the beautiful outlook,” said John.
The double-fronted house offers spacious accommodation including an attractive reception hallway with hardwood flooring and cloakroom, dining room with bay window and lounge with fireplace. The fitted breakfasting kitchen provides access to a balcony with spiral staircase leading down to the rear garden.
