Easy going antidote to hectic life

Mar 29 2008

by Karen Wilson, The Journal

MORE than 8.6million people (nearly a third of Britain’s workforce) work longer than the traditional nine to five shift. Factor in time spent on exercising, grocery shopping, and chores and the average person has little time for their loved ones.

With that staggering statistic from the ‘At Home Report’ in mind, Yuill Homes has designed a solution for busy professionals – the two-bedroom Regent apartment at Whitworth Park in Spennymoor.

The Regent is modern and well-equipped leaving residents plenty of free time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings, attractions and nightlife nearby. The light, open-plan living area is an ideal space to relax and unwind. The smart fitted kitchen/dining area complete with Smeg appliances, including a washer/dryer, is guaranteed to impress any dinner guests.

The report also found one in five couples regularly pass the working week spending minimal time together. The contemporary space offered by the Regent has been designed to minimise home decorating and DIY chores, leaving more time to spend cooking romantic meals for two, or entertaining friends and family.

Lindsay Greenhaugh, of Yuill Homes, said: “As well as being stylish, our Regent apartment is practical. We know that in today’s fast-paced world people want an area of calm to come home to where they have time for themselves. Our neat storage ideas such as double fitted wardrobes in the master bedroom are perfect for maintaining a clutter free environment”.

Whitworth Park’s proximity to Durham, Darlington, Newcastle and Durham Tees Valley Airport also means commuters are never more than 35 minutes away from home.

Spennymoor itself offers a range of local amenities, and with visitor attractions such as Beamish on its doorstep, Spennymoor is a history lovers’ haven.

Less than half an hour’s drive away are Roman forts and impressive castles such as Raby or Durham Castle. Sporting types can take advantage of country walks or Durham County Cricket Ground and nightlife lovers have Durham city centre just 20 minutes away.

Taking time out from a busy life works wonders for any relationship and with the lure of long lazy Sunday lunches overlooking the ornamental lake at Whitworth Hall close by, Yuill’s new development provides the perfect location.

Two, three and four-bedroom homes are available at Whitworth Park and prices for the Regent apartments start at £119,950, tel: (01338) 811616.
