Space and style combine to sell the luxury apartment lifestyle

May 8 2008

by Karen Overbury, The Journal

Best Showhome Interior

A STYLISH, quality theme used throughout Dunelm Homes’ duplex apartment was praised by the judges.

The “stunning” property also won the Best Apartment category in the awards. It was described as a quality, practical scheme with a luxury feel that was well themed and which cleverly displayed the space and style of the duplex apartment.

Furniture and fittings fitted in well into the duplex property, helping to provide a good feeling of space while providing a practical display of what the property would be like to live in

Dunelm Homes sales and marketing director Colin Willetts said: “It is essential to us to create an interior scheme that instantly sells a lifestyle to our buyers. And, to win the Best Showhome Interior award is testament to the combination of our interior specification and design that we use when creating a scheme.

“The showhome, situated within the Heathfields apartments, is a three-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment spanning two floors and we set out to create a sense of extreme luxury throughout.

“From the stylish and contemporary design to the modern yet timeless furniture and high specification that can be found throughout the apartment, we've worked hard to create a place that people want to come home to.”

Runners up

DARE (Northern): Axwell Gardens, Axwell Park, Blaydon, Gateshead.

DARE (Northern), which also won the Best Townhouse Award and went on to win the overall award, has a simple yet elegant interior design scheme at Axwell Gardens which helped to show the property’s space and modern styling.

The judges said it was an impressive scheme that helped to give a feeling of light and life to the stunning property and a pleasant lived-in look.

Miller Homes: Apartment A, The Willows, Leam Lane, Gateshead.

THE eye-catching interior design at Miller Homes’ Apartment A at The Willows was a scheme with a real difference. The judges said it was a bold, brave, fun look, with a good feel, aimed firmly at “the boys” but with a practical, serious edge.

The duplex apartment was spacious and the bright, contemporary look, with good furniture and fittings, showed this off well and helped to bring light and air into the apartment.
