So worthwhile after all the hard graft

May 8 2008

by Karen Overbury, The Journal

JUDGING the Living Awards, now in their eighth year, is a challenging and time-consuming undertaking for the judges.

Each property entered into the awards is visited at least once and by at least two judges.

Co-ordinating judging and visits to developments is difficult, especially as the judges have a limited window in which to make all their visits – which can be anywhere in the North East from the Scottish Borders down into Teesside and North Yorkshire and across into Cumbria.

The judging generally takes place from mid-February to the end of March – often in challenging winter weather.
