A £1m price tag meant that the awards judges had high expectations of The Mill House and none was disappointed.
A stunning setting, a true sense of space and luxury plus a good number of “extras” were some of the reasons why the property was awarded the Best Luxury House title.
The judges said Stone Homes, which also went on to win the Best Small Builder category, showed great attention to detail in the conversion and a concern to use 21st Century technology where possible, such as in the use of underground heat pumps, without compromising the structure. Stone Homes director Dale Robinson said: “Luxury is not just a word, it is an intrinsic part of our company culture. The Stone Homes team of time-served craftsmen lavish time, care, pride and originality into every one of our traditionally-crafted homes.
“The products chosen in the build and finish represent the very best of the best in both quality and performance. Every completed home must enhance the exclusive location in which they are set.
“The 21st Century Living Awards are perceived as a quality kite mark and standard by both the house buying public and the construction industry alike. For this reason, we are delighted that our team’s efforts in design, build and finish has been recognised by the judges in winning this years Best Luxury Home Award.
“Given the quality of the companies entered for the category we are proud that our company was chosen to carry the Luxury standard for 2008.
“The award means the world to our team and is, without doubt, a major driving force in maintaining the high standards necessary to continue to have our homes described as luxury.”
