Ryanair charges €100 charity fee for price comparison

May 11 2009

by Holiday Hypermarket

Ryanair is to charge an annual €100 charitable donation to allow holiday price comparison websites to access its pricing and timetable information.

The airline has said it will continue to ban screen scraper websites and for price comparison only websites they will set up a new licence agreement.

Michael O'Leary said "all licence fees will be donated by Ryanair to the charity nominated annually by our staff".

"Ryanair will continue to fight against "ticket touts" screen scrapers which are reselling Ryanair seats without authorisation and are ripping off consumers with inflated fares and fictitious fuel surcharges."
