Passengers will pay extra to sit next to the pilot

In a recent survey, passengers agreed that they would be prepared to pay extra to sit next to the pilot during their flights.

The poll carried out by Skyscanner claims that 16% of those surveyed stated that they would be happy to pay more money for their ticket if they could sit in the cockpit.

15% agreed that they would also pay extra to have internet access available on a flight, while 14% would pay more to be seated away from babies and children.

Head of Communications at Skyscanner, Lara Bayley, said that airlines would offer these seats in the cockpit if security allowed, in a bid to increase revenue.

It would also please those who wanted to be away from children, plus the 13% who wanted extra leg-room.

Unfortunately, since the tragic events of 9/11, cockpits are strictly off limits to all passengers, so it is extremely unlikely this idea will ever be implemented.

Passengers surveyed also indicated that they would pay more to be able to check-in just 5 minutes before take-off, for baby's cots to be supplied, to have personal parachutes, and for the chance to buy newspapers and magazines onboard.

Obviously some of these suggestions are more feasible than others.
