A be a Buddy Not a Bully Conference is to take place in Gateshead next week.
The day-long gathering at the Swallow Hotel on Friday has been organised by educational psychologist Dr Val Besag.
The conference will include input from schools and young people from across the region.
Dr Besag said: "Some youngsters will be involved in drama work, others will be showing examples of their buddy system and others will show examples of mediation techniques."
De Besag added: "The work of The Journal in raising awareness of this issue has been very welcome."
