A better experience for employers

Apr 3 2007

By The Journal

Over recent years, Jobcentre Plus has completely revitalised the way in that employers experience and perceive the services we offer - introducing new technology and improved services.

In the North-East, our 2,210 staff work with more than 300,000 customers through 75 Jobcentre Plus offices.

We can help employers of all sizes and with different requirements - which is why we have a flexible approach to the way we work. We don't compromise on our service standards, and aim to deliver the highest levels of customer satisfaction at all times. We do this through providing services that meet employers' needs, in ways that suit them best.

We're investing in services for employers by identifying what businesses need and delivering this support in the most effective way. For example, we're amongst the leaders when it comes to electronic channels. More than 400,000 vacancies are listed each week on our website www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk and more than four million job search requests are received, making it the number one UK recruitment website.

Employer Direct online is an easy way to place your vacancies and manage them online at any time. Simply fill in the details and submit them - the advert could be on our website within 11 minutes. It will also be immediately available through any Jobcentre Plus jobpoint terminal in more than 1,000 locations throughout the country, including in more than 800 Jobcentre Plus offices - and be available to our operators on the Jobseeker Direct jobsearch telephone service. To register, call 0845 601 2001 between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, or apply online at www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk/key

You can also place your vacancy with us by calling 0845 601 2001 (8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday, and 10am to 4pm Saturday) and speak directly to an Employer Direct adviser. They will talk you through your requirements, from the wording of the advert to whether you need additional services. You will also receive the name of your local labour market recruitment adviser who will be filling the vacancy for you.

Employers with large-scale needs - whether to help recruit staff for a new large store, warehouse or contact centre, or who want support to use our services across the country - can be given dedicated support. This could be through the dedicated services of a national account manager who will work closely with you to define and implement your recruitment strategies. This will involve establishing service level agreements for all stores, franchises or premises nationwide. Alternatively, to complete a specific recruitment project, you can call on support from a labour market recruitment adviser who will offer tailored help at every stage from helping develop a recruitment advertising campaign to handling applications to arranging interviews.

To get more information on our services, or place your vacancies with us, contact us by telephone: phone number style correct0845 601 2001 (8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday, and 10am to 4pm Saturday) or online www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk/employers
