Storage Place bangs the drum

May 24 2007

By The Journal

The Storage Place has officially become the only storage service company in the North-East that can stock both hazardous liquid materials outdoors and thousands of gallons of alcoholic drinks indoors.

Thanks to its new drum park facility for dangerous goods and gaining bonded warehouse status from HM Customs and Excise, liquid storage of many varieties has led to a 20% increase in business over the past 12 months. The Storage Place's 13,000sqft specialist drum park facility can hold up to 4,000 barrels of hazardous materials - including, toxic, corrosive, and flammable substances - and staff have been through a rigorous training course to ensure they are fully compliant with the Carriage of Dangerous Goods and use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2004.

Businesses that need to store hazardous materials, including liquids, often find that this takes up vast amounts of square footage, not to mention the staff training required to manage the stock.

The Storage Place's team of expert staff can now handle these goods in a safe and secure environment until they need to recall it or have it safely disposed of.

Its bonded warehouse license also means that it can stockpile tens of thousands of palletised bottles and boxes of alcohol for major importers and distributors.
