Marti pellow, he with the incredible voice, lead singer of Wet Wet Wet and acclaimed solo artist, takes to the road this Autumn on a major UK tour, with a date at Newcastle's City Hall on November 9.
Composer, producer and above all vocalist, Marti's gift for melody is known and loved by millions.
The tour, In Concert Alone, sees Marti doing just that, performing classic hits from his platinum-selling solo album Smile and the best-selling Between the Covers CD, plus many Wet Wet Wet classics.
Marti will occasionally be joined by his best friend and special guest, Squeeze mainstay Chris Difford.
Wet Wet Wet, one of the great British groups of the 80s and 90s, claimed 12 UK Top 10 hits including three No 1s, With A Little Help From My Friends, Goodnight Girl and the massive Reg Presley penned Love Is All Around, which stayed at the top of the UK charts for an incredible 15 weeks and made No 1 in 15 countries. The group also scored four UK No 1 albums.
In 2000 Marti embarked on his first solo outing - a sell-out, climaxing with two nights at London's Royal Albert Hall. His debut solo album, Smile, went platinum while another sell-out tour including Wembley Arena marked the following year. In 2002 he joined the cast of the hit musical Chicago, playing lawyer Billy Flynn, a role he was later to take around the UK and to Broadway to rave reviews.
Marti's last album, the 2003 hit Between the Covers, is a tribute to his favourite artists, is followed this year by the release of his latest CD Moonlight Over Memphis. To be released to coincide with the tour and sees Marti on his best form yet.
