Life as an actor can be a dangerous business, as Jamie Bell discovered during his latest film.
The Teesside-born movie star braved the dizzy heights of Edinburgh's rooftops as the star of Hallam Foe, in which he plays a runaway.
Jamie, 21, spent six weeks making the film, but preparation started many weeks before.
To gear up for the role - and to satisfy health and safety experts - he had to go to "climbing school" at an indoor climbing centre. Fans can see how he got on in video clips posted on the film's production website, which last week revealed the UK release date as August 31.
Jamie takes the title role in the movie - as a voyeuristic teenager - the first leading part he's had since Billy Elliot back in 2000.
