Parry confirmed in Tranmere role
16:45, Dec 16 2009
Tranmere have appointed caretaker boss Les Parry as manager until the end of the season.
The club physio has been in charge for the past two months following John Barnes' sacking and will continue to be assisted by Shaun Garnett and Wayne Allison. Parry has guided Rovers to five wins and three draws during his time in temporary charge, while Rovers are now seeking a new physio as Parry continues to perform both roles for now.
Chairman Peter Johnson said: "Les stepped into the breach, immediately stabilised the situation and there has been a significant improvement in the team's performances."
He added: "Not only did we go five matches unbeaten, but we also picked up four clean sheets in the space of six games.
"He has embraced the role with the level of dedication that has been typical of his work throughout his career at Tranmere."
