Falcons duo Semo Sititi and Galo Alvarez Quinones have been called up by Samoa and Argentina.
Flanker Sititi has been drafted into the Samoan squad for the Rugby World Cup Sevens in Hong Kong while Quinones has been selected for a week-long training camp with the Argentinian squad.
Sititi, who turned 31 last week, will take part in the same group as an England squad containing fellow Falcons Mathew Tait and Phil Dowson.
"Samoa asked about my availability and with the Falcons having no game that weekend Rob Andrew has agreed to release me for the competition," said Sititi.
"The Hong Kong Sevens is a huge event anyway but being a World Cup makes it extra special and then the possibility of playing against Taity and Dowse when we meet England would be fantastic."
Sititi, who scored two tries in last weekend's North v South IRB Tsunami Aid match at Twickenham, is happy to be back in international action.
Samoa didn't organise any Tests during the November window, although last year's inaugural Pacific Islanders tour did see him become part of rugby history.
"It was the first time that the rugby players in the Pacific have had something to play for collectively and there was a huge amount of enthusiasm for it at the time," he said, looking back on a tour which saw them play Tests against the three Tri-Nations superpowers of New Zealand, South Africa and Australia.
"It was difficult because the players, especially the guys who had just finished a European season, were really tired, but to say that I was involved in the first ever Pacific Islanders tour gives me a lot of pride when I think about it.
"Next autumn we have a game against England, and it would be fantastic to come up against some of my Newcastle team mates."
