THE Redcar Bears picked up a comfortable two Premier League points at South Tees Motor Park last night.
The match began with three shared races but then the visitors received a major setback as Trent Leverington took a fall in his opening ride and was ruled out for the remainder of the match.
The Tigers were not able to adequately cover for the absence of their Aussie and with the top rider, Shane Parker, in subdued form the home side were able to take control of the match. Redcar provided ten of the 15 heat winners with most resistance coming from Craig Watson, who battled away well for the visitors.
The Bears had each of their top three riders Gary Havelock, James Grieves and Mat Tresarrieu all hitting double figure scores as they raced to a comfortable success in a meeting that never really caught the imagination.
