India hit back in the best possible style after their shock defeat against Bangladesh on Sunday, clinching the one-day series with a powerful batting display in Dhaka yesterday.
The tourists responded to their shock loss by restoring their big names to the team and giving their hosts a lesson with the bat as they took the series 2-1 with a decisive 91-run win.
The minnows had clinched a 15-run victory - their first-ever home win - to level the three-match series on Sunday but the Indians bounced back yesterday by racing to 348 for five from 50 overs.
Virender Sehwag top-scored with 70 while Yuvraj Singh thrashed 69 from just 32 balls.
Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid, on their returns to the side, contributed 47 and 60 respectively, while captain Sourav Ganguly made 55.
Needing to score at seven an over, Bangladesh were never in with a chance and reached 257 for nine from their 50 overs, a decent score in most circumstances but well off the pace here.
Opening batsman Rajin Saleh fought bravely from the outset but watched helplessly as his partners came and departed. He eventually gave up his own wicket when he was drawn forward to a more quickly flighted delivery from Tendulkar and was stumped by MS Dhoni for 82.
Mashrafe Mortaza's quickfire 39 from 20 balls in just 12 minutes gave the home fans something to cheer but it was too little too late to help the Bangladesh cause.
He became the ninth man out when he was stumped by Dhoni, again off the bowling of master batsman Tendulkar.
