In the semi-final against Europe's No 12 cadet, Gavin Evans, who along with Paul Drinkhall is considered one of Britain's top prospects, Danny won 3-1 after losing the first game 20-18.
In the top half of the draw there were a number of surprise results which saw the defeat of Scotland's No 1, Kevin Lindsey, who won the Stockton tournament in November, and Yorkshire's leading junior, Ben Barlow, both by seventh seed Simon Noutch, also of Yorkshire.
Danny defeated Noutch in the final 14-12, 7-11, 11-6, 11-7.
This victory gives Danny's hopes of selection for the European Youth Championships, in Budapest in July, a major boost.
It also confirms the significant improvement which has been apparent in his play over the current season.
