TRIUMPHANT Tyneside Rivergods enjoyed success north of the border – in their first competitive softball tournament.
The newly-formed team won the Shield event at the event, held at the Civil Service Sports Ground in Leith.
The Rivergods, born out of the Tyneside Baseball and Softball Association, reached the semi-finals despite losing two of their three round-robin matches.
They reached the final after a thrilling extra-innings victory and went on to beat Glasgow team AJ's 4-1 in the decider.
