DERWENTSIDE’S Joric Gebhard sailed to success on home water in the final round of the Trident UK-backed North East Youth Traveller Series.
The youngster finished first overall at Derwent Reservoir, ahead of Mike Matthews (Sunderland Yacht Club), Derwentside's Danny Trotter and Beadnell's Honor Fell.
Sixty-nine local sailors had competed in the various rounds of the Series, the overall winner being Sunderland’s Mike Matthews with 181 points.
