Dawn Christy has always wanted to move away from the North-East and next month she will be doing just that - in search of a better way of life, less stress and warmer weather.
Dawn and partner Graham Ward are preparing to move from their home in Amble to start a new life in Brittany.
They have bought an old farm house and plan to convert it into their home and a bed and breakfast.
Dawn, 43, who grew up in South Shields, said: "This is something I have always wanted to do. I think it will be a better way of life and give us new opportunities.
Dawn has worked at Newcastle's Freeman Hospital as a higher clerical officer for over 12 years and Graham is a self-employed joiner. She says they are both looking forward to the change in pace of life.
